Segue abaixo o conjunto de regras para jogar Vale dos Mercadores solo. (São duas variantes)
Joguei várias vezes e achei muito legalzinho. É bem difícil conseguir fechar as 9 bancas. Consegui só uma vez, mas nas outras vezes que joguei bem, fiquei perto!
Aliás, o jogo em si é muito legalzinho mesmo, um design elegante - algo que diverte de forma suficientemente estratégica e mantendo a simplicidade.

Setup:
Set up as a 2 player game (3 sets of animal decks), but dealing out a hand for just one player (you).
[EDITED] The remaining nine 1-value cards (3 per animal deck) are shuffled and placed in the market discard pile (to provide a starting pile to attack early-on if you have the cards to do so).
The market deck and the market itself are set up as usual.
Turns:
Generally, you play your turns as usual. There is no AI to play against, so just play each turn in succession (noting the market refill additional rule below).
Any card powers that allow you to take cards from other players hands, decks or stacks, target the market discard pile instead. Any card powers causing other players to discard cards, instead you draw an extra card. Any card powers that let you put cards from your hand/deck onto other players' hands/deck, just put a card in the appropriate discard pile instead. Any card powers that say you can take a card from another player and give one back, just take a card from the top of the market deck then put one card into the market discard.
[EDITED] If, during your turn, you acquire a card from the market in any way (a normal purchase or by playing a card's special ability) that results in a space in the market, then: before refilling, discard the right-most card from the market into the market discard pile, slide all cards up to the right, and then refill. (This simulates another player taking cards themselves, but also gives a market discard pile for some card actions to target.)
[EDIT 26-May-2016]: You may choose to discard your whole hand in order to take any one of the right-most 3 cards from the market. If you do this, then during the cleanup phase discard the TWO right-most cards from the market into the market discard pile, instead of the usual 1.
Game end:
Your aim is to build *9* stacks (not the normal 8) before you are unable to refill the market after buying a card.
If at any point the market needs refilling but there are no cards left in the market deck to refill it with, you lose! (You don't reshuffle the market discard pile in this variant!)
If you manage to build your 9 stacks before you are unable to refill the market, you win!
